🔐 Security
mendbuddy keeps your account secure while keeping things simple. This guide explains how you log in using MFA Login and how to boost your account's protection even further by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
🔑 MFA Login
By default, mendbuddy uses a secure Mail-Factor Authentication (MFA) login system.
How it works:
- Enter your email address and password on the login screen.
- You'll receive a secure, one-time link by email.
- Click the link to complete your login.
💡 The link is time-sensitive and can only be used once. It's valid for a short window to protect your account.
This approach reduces the risk of password-based attacks while making logging in more secure and convenient.
🔐 Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
For even stronger protection, you can enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in your Profile Settings.
Once enabled, 2FA replaces the standard MFA login process. Instead of receiving a link via email, you'll log in using:
- Your email and password
- A verification code from your mobile authenticator app
How to enable 2FA:
- Go to your Profile (via the avatar in the top-right corner).
- Click Set up two-factor authentication.
- Follow the setup instructions using your preferred authenticator app.
🔒 This extra layer ensures that only you can access your account, even if someone knows your email and password.
🛡️ Security Tips
- Use a strong, unique password for your mendbuddy account.
- Enable 2FA to protect against unauthorised access.
- Make sure your email account is secure — it's critical to your login flow.
- Never share login links or authentication codes with anyone.
