🧠 Buddy Service Types
When setting up your Buddy, you can choose from three different service types — or combine them. Each type defines the kind of questions your Buddy will answer and the information it provides to your customers.
You can enable one, two, or all three Buddy service types depending on what your business offers and your subscription tier.
🔧 Repair Buddy
The Repair Buddy is designed to handle inquiries related to device repairs.
Buddy can:
- Answer common repair questions
- Explain your repair process
- Share diagnostic or bench fee details
- Provide estimated pricing
- Highlight your service options (e.g. call-outs, in-store repairs)
- Mention your repair warranties and turnaround times
Perfect for: tech repair shops, service centres, and businesses offering electronic or mechanical repairs.
🔁 Buyback Buddy
The Buyback Buddy focuses on helping customers sell their devices to you.
Buddy can:
- Explain your buyback process
- Guide customers on how to send or bring in devices (e.g. post, visit, collection)
- Outline accepted payment methods (e.g. PayPal, bank transfer, store credit)
- Provide rough quotes if applicable
Perfect for: businesses that buy used phones, tablets, laptops, or other electronics from customers.
🛍️ Product Sales Buddy
The Product Sales Buddy helps you promote and sell products — whether that's complete devices, accessories, or spare parts.
Buddy can:
- Provide product details and specs
- Guide users on payment options (card, cash, bank transfer, etc.)
- Answer questions about shipping (including international)
- Share warranty information on products and components
- Let users know if free shipping is available
Perfect for: online shops, retailers, or anyone selling parts, components, or consumer electronics.
✅ Mix and Match
You're not locked into one type — your Buddy can support multiple roles at once.
For example:
- You can have a Buddy that handles both repairs and buybacks
- Or one that manages all three: repairs, buybacks, and product sales
This flexibility means you can tailor your Buddy to fit your exact business needs.
📊 Service Type Limits by Subscription Tier
The number of service types you can enable depends on your subscription plan:

You can also create multiple Buddies, with the number allowed depending on your subscription tier:

Need More Service Types or Buddies?
If you need additional service types or more Buddies beyond your current tier's limit, you have two options:
- 📈 Upgrade Your Tier - Move to a higher subscription plan for more service types, additional Buddies, and other features
- 🛒 Purchase Add-Ons - Buy additional service types or Buddy slots as add-ons to your current plan

Visit your account dashboard or contact our team to explore upgrade options and add-on pricing.
To configure your Buddy's service type(s), go to:
Buddies > Settings > Active Services
Simply tick the services you want your Buddy to support (up to your tier's limit).
