Welcome to mendbuddy's URLs section! Here, you can add web links that our AI assistant, Buddy, will use to provide you with accurate and relevant answers. This guide outlines the types of URLs supported and best practices to ensure Buddy can effectively utilize the content.

🔗 Supported URL Types​

Buddy can process a variety of publicly accessible web pages, including:

  • Standard Web Pages: HTML pages with textual content.
  • Blog Posts and Articles: Informative content from reputable sources.
  • Documentation Pages: Technical or product documentation.
  • Public GitHub Repositories: Code and README files.

Note: Buddy is designed to extract and read text. Pages that rely heavily on JavaScript to render content or contain primarily images may not be processed effectively.

✅ Best Practices for Adding URLs​

To ensure Buddy can interpret and utilize the content from your URLs effectively, follow these guidelines:

1. Use Publicly Accessible URLs​

  • Ensure the URL does not require authentication or a login to access.
  • Avoid URLs behind paywalls or with restricted access.

2. Prefer Text-Rich Pages​

  • Choose pages where the main content is in text format.
  • Avoid pages that primarily contain images, videos, or dynamic content.
  • Use URLs that are unlikely to change over time.
  • Avoid temporary links or those that may expire.

4. Descriptive Titles​

  • When adding a URL, provide a clear and descriptive title to help identify the content.

After adding, your URLs are stored securely within mendbuddy. You can:

  • Add – Include new URLs for Buddy to reference.
  • Update – Modify existing URLs if the content has changed.
  • Delete – Remove URLs that are no longer relevant.

⚠️ Note: Once added, the content from the URL is processed and stored. If the original web page changes, you'll need to update the URL in mendbuddy to reflect the new content.
